Bad Bunny will be the protagonist of the Super Bowl’s part -time show in 2026. The news was celebrated both for his fans and as his colleagues in the music industry.
The Bad Bunny show at the Super Bowl, on February 8 at the Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, will mark a milestone in the reggaeton’s career and in Latin music, as he will be the first Latin American artist to solo the show alone.
However, before the Puerto Rican reggaeton other Latin artists opened the way for him to be there next year. From the pioneers to the recent big names, several Latin artists have left their mark on the part -time show.
The Latin artists presented at the Super Bowl
Gloria Estefan (1992, 1995, 1999)
Cuban artist Gloria Estefan was the first great Latin figure to head the mid -time show of the Super Bowl. His first presentation at the maximum sports event in the United States was in 1992.
It was a show full of Latin and color rhythm that was made in the Minneapolis metrodome and it was a fairly traditional show compared to the current ones.
The singer, who was accompanied by members of the ice hockey team that represented the United States at the winter -win performance with “get on your feet.”
The singer also participated in the Super Bowl’s part -time show in 1995 and 1999.
Arturo Sandoval (1995)
Cuban trumpet and pianist stood out in the mid -time show of the Super Bowl XXIX, held on January 29, 1995 at the Joe Robbie Stadium in Miami, where he showed his virtuosity with the trumpet and his ability to merge jazz and Latin rhythms.
Sandoval shared the stage with renowned artists such as Patti Labelle, Tony Bennett and Miami Sound Machine, in a thematic show inspired by Indiana Jones and the temple of the forbidden eye.
Enrique Iglesias (2000)
Enrique Iglesias participated in the mid -time show of the Super Bowl XXXIV, which took place on January 30, 2000 at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, Georgia.
In that show, the Spanish singer shared the stage with important artists of the time such as Christina Aguilera, Phil Collins and Toni Braxton.
Gustavo Dudamel (2016)
In the Super Bowl 50, held on February 7, 2016 at the Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, was headed by the British band Coldplay, with special guests such as Bruno Mars, Beyoncé and director Gustavo Dudamel.
In the show, Dudamel directed a group of approximately 40 young musicians from the Los Angeles Youth Orchestra (Yola), a group that he founded and is mostly composed of children and adolescents from low -income families and Hispanic origin.
Shakira and Jennifer Lopez (2020)
In 2020, Shakira and Jennifer López jointly starred in the mid -Bowl Liv Show, held at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.
The show, with a duration of approximately 14 minutes, was divided into two main parts: one for Shakira and one for JLO.
In the show, the Barranquillera interpreted some of her most emblematic successes such as “She Wolf”, “Whenever, wherever”, “blackmail” and “Hips Don’t Lie”.
When his turn came, Jennifer López took the stage to interpret iconic topics such as “Jenny from the block”, “On the floor” and “Waiting for Tonight.”
Bad Bunny and J Balvin as guests (2020)
In the Super Bowl Liv in 2020, starring Shakira and Jennifer Lopez, Bad Bunny and J Balvin participated as guests in the Barranquillera segment.
Bad Bunny interpreted his success “Callaíta” and accompanied Shakira in the song “Chantaje”, while J Balvin turned on the atmosphere with songs such as “What heat” and “My people.”
