President Donald Trump does not take his finger off the line by demanding that the newspaper New York Times compensated him for $15 billion dollars for defaming him and for that reason he sued him again.
The complaint filed in the South Florida court included copies of three articles published last year by the media between September 14 and October 22, within the framework of the campaign for the presidential elections.
They remind readers that the conservative politician was convicted of falsifying business records and present the testimony of some of his former allies defining him as a fascist and future dictator, which Trump describes as defamation.
“The Times has become one of the most brazen disseminators of known, malicious and defamatory falsehoods against President Donald J. Trump in the current traditional media landscape,” stated part of the letter.
However, the 85-page lawsuit was rejected by Steven Merryday, federal judge for the Middle District of Florida, who considered that it violated Rule 8 of federal civil procedure, since it was not a “short and simple statement” as established by law.
“Alleging only two simple counts of defamation, the complaint runs to 85 pages. Even under the most generous and lenient application of Rule 8, the complaint is decidedly improper and inadmissible,” the magistrate wrote.

Faced with this panorama, Donald Trump’s legal team reduced its arguments to 40 pages and resubmitted it reiterating that they defamed the president in coverage of his business career and in regards to his years on reality television.
The lawsuit also includes the publisher Penguin Random House, responsible for publishing the book “Lucky Loser: How Donald Trump Squandered His Father’s Fortune and Created the Illusion of Success.”
Although the format of the lawsuit was modified, its objective remains the same, demanding $15 billion in compensatory damages, in addition to punitive damages.
“As we said when it was first filed and again after the judge decided to dismiss it: this lawsuit has no merit.
Nothing has changed. This is simply an attempt to stifle independent reporting and attract public relations attention, but The New York Times will not be deterred by intimidation tactics,” the defendant newspaper said in a statement.
It should be noted that Trump has obtained compensation through other Previous lawsuits filed against television networks ABC News and C.B.S. News.
