There are no survivors after helicopter accident near Airport in Minnesota



A Robinson R66 helicopter crashed on Saturday afternoon near Airlake airport in Lakeville, Minnesotaand caught fire after the impact. The authorities confirmed that there were no survivors, although it has not yet been determined how many people were traveling on board.

The Lakeville Police Department reported that emergency teams found the wrecked aircraft around 2:45 pm in an area located west of the Airlake airport, in an area without housing or shops.

The helicopter, identified as a Robinson R66, caught fire after the impact. No injuries were reported on land.

No confirmed survivors

Although the authorities have not specified the number of passengers, they confirmed that there were no survivors. The Robinson R66 model has capacity for a pilot and up to four passengers.

The National Board of Transportation Security (NTSB) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) investigate the causes of the accident.

The NTSB indicated that the helicopter crashed into unknown circumstances and that an investigator will travel to Minnesota to examine the aircraft and document the scene. Subsequently, the helicopter will be transferred to an installation for a detailed review.

Lakeville is about 20 miles south of Minneapolis and 25 miles south of St. Paul.
