Blaine Milam, 35, was executed after being convicted of killing Amora Carson, 13 months, in December 2008, Although he always argued that his then girlfriend, Jeseca Carson, was guilty of the murder and claiming that she was the one who said the girl was possessed by a demon.
Despite this, Carson was judged separately and sentenced to life imprisonment without the possibility of probation after being convicted of capital murder for helping Milam. Both were 18 years old at that time.
According to prosecutorsMilam tried to expel the demon from his Carson body inside his trailer in Rusk County, east of Dallas. The authorities said Milam hit the girl with a hammer, then strangled her, bit her and mutilated her.
“Amora was subjected to indescribable violence during the course of 30 hours,” prosecutors wrote in judicial documents, noting that the girl suffered skull fractures, broken bones and dozens of bites of bites.
Prior to its execution, when asked if he wanted to make a final statement, Milam thanked his friends and the chaplaincy of the prison for opening his faith -based programs to the prisoners convicted of death.
“If any of you want to see me again, I implore everyone, regardless of who they are, to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, and we will meet again,” Milam said from the stretcher of the Chamber of Death. “I love you all. Take me home, Jesus.”
Milam was declared dead by lethal injection at 6:40 pm in the state penitentiary of Huntsville.
His lawyers argued that he should be forgiven, claiming unreliable evidence of the bite brands and doubts about their intellectual disability. Its execution was scheduled for 2019 and 2021, but it was delayed while the courts reviewed these allegations.
However, the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals ruled that the execution should continue and the Board of Indults and Probation denied its application for clemency.
