The California Legislature approved on Thursday the controversial redistribution plan for electoral districts proposed by Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom.
The legislative package that was already signed by Newsom on Thursday, summons special elections on the electoral map of the California Congressat a time when state Democratic legislators seek to act quickly to counteract the initiative backed by President Donald Trump to expand the republican majority in the House of Representatives by redefinition of the electoral maps of the Texas Congress.
Newsom said in A statement Published in Social Networks: “I have just signed the Law on the Response to Electoral Manipulation to vote the proposition 50 on November 4. The Californians will have the power to oppose Texas and any other state that obeys the requirement of @realdonaldtrump to manipulate the next elections.”
He New map It would modify five of the Republican seats of the California House of Representatives to favor the Democrats in the intermediate elections of 2026.
