Today, more than eight decades later, that essence remains alive with the arrival of the 2026 Jeep Wrangler Commando 392a special edition that will not be sold in regular dealerships.

This project, led by Fox Factory Vehicles, celebrates 250 years of the United States Armed Forces with a version as exclusive as it is symbolic. More than an all-terrain vehicle, the Commando 392 is a tribute to the spirit of service and resistance that gave rise to the brand.
Only 250 units and a solidarity mission
The exclusivity of this model is extreme: only 250 copies will be manufactured. Of those, 249 are reserved for active military and U.S. veterans.while a single unit will be auctioned to the public during Armed Forces Appreciation Month.
Every dollar raised will go directly to the USO (United Service Organizations), an entity that has accompanied and supported members of the military and their families since World War II.
It is a gesture consistent with the legacy of the original Jeep, which was also born as a symbol of support in difficult times.
An all-rounder with a soul of steel
Based on the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited 392, this model takes performance and ruggedness to a new level. Its heart is the 392 cubic inch Hemi V-8 engine, which already delivers impressive power. However, Fox Factory has taken it further, giving it a preparation reminiscent of the toughest military vehicles.
It has a 3.5-inch raised suspension thanks to a JKS Suspension kit, accompanied by 3.0-inch Fox Racing shock absorbers with external reservoir. This configuration allows 37-inch Nitto Ridge Grappler tires, designed for extreme terrain, to be mounted on 17-inch beadlock-capable wheels.
The spare tire is relocated inside the vehicle, in a holder behind the seats, and an integrated accessory panel is added to secure equipment during off-road missions.
Aesthetics inspired by the original Willys
Visually, the Commando 392 evokes early military Jeeps. Its body is painted in the same shade as the ’41 Willys special edition, with high-rise steel fenders and modified bumpers with body-color inserts.
The hardtop is replaced with a canvas Bimini top, and custom tubular doors are installed that enhance the feeling of freedom without losing structural safety.
Inside the cabin, The seats are upholstered in tan leather, with the word “Commando” embroidered, remembering the purpose with which this model was born.
Options that increase your power
Fox Factory offers several additional configurations for those looking for even more performance. One of the most striking is the Whipple supercharger, which increases power up to 705 horsepowera notable jump compared to the 470 horsepower of the standard engine.
You can also add a Magnaflow exhaust system with black tips, which amplifies the Hemi’s signature growl, and a 12,000-pound Warn winchessential for getting out of traffic jams on extreme routes. Each component has been designed for those who have off-road DNA in their blood.
Price and collection value
The price of the 2026 Wrangler Commando 392 starts from more than $100,000 dollarssince the conversion adds $69,995 dollars at the base cost of the Wrangler 392. Its price, however, is the least important: it is an edition with a commemorative purpose and a unique symbolic charge.
It is likely that the true owners of this Jeep are not simple off-road enthusiasts, but men and women who once served in the military and today see in this vehicle an extension of their personal history.
