The alert was issued by the USDA’s Food Safety Inspection Service (FSIS) who told consumers to throw away the spinach that comes from the kits due to contamination with Listeria monocytogenes.
Although so far, there have been no reported cases of people becoming ill with listeriosis due to the consumption of this food. The manufacturer FreshRealm stated that after a test the spinach tested positive for contamination.

The health entity detailed that Listeria contamination was only observed in HelloFresh prepared meals and not in the other products contained in the food box.
The recalled product was distributed between September 6 and October 9, 2025 in the presentation:
- Cheese Pasta, Pulled Pork, and Pepper: 10.1 oz containers with establishment number “Est. 47718” and lot code 49107 or establishment number “Est. 2937” and lot code 48840.
- Unstuffed Peppers with Ground Turkey: 10 oz containers with establishment number “P-47718” and lot codes 50069, 50073 or 50698.

For its part, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention indicated that Listeria contamination can be fatal to children, pregnant women, older adults, or people with underlying health conditions. causing fever, diarrhea, seizures, among others.
