The Department of Justice announced that a federal large jury in Fresno, California, presented a formal accusation of five charges accusing the former one of the Superior Court of California Adolfo Corona66, of federal crimes for sexually assaulting a 33 -year -old court employee, making false statements to cover up the aggression and obstruct investigation into accusations that he sexually assaulted another 43 -year -old court employee in his office.
The formal accusation alleges that on March 14, 2024, Corona, while serving as judge of the Superior Court of California, led one of his victims to the stairs of a court, where he sexually assaulted her.
The accusation also claims that crowns, during separate interviews with the FBI and the administrators of the court, He made false statements about the circumstances of his aggression to the first victim.
Besides, The accusation claims that Corona obstructed the investigation into the accusations that he sexually assaulted a second woman. Corona was alone with his second victim in his office for approximately two hours on December 5, 2023, and was subsequently found alone in the judge’s office after being passed out.
The formal accusation accuses Corona of having falsely told the FBI who left this woman alone in her office while driving to collect a motorcycle.
It also accuses Corona of trying to persuade an employee of a motorcycle dealership to change the company’s records to falsely reflect that he had collected his motorcycle in order to corroborate his alibi.
If they are convicted, Corona faces a maximum penalty of 40 years in prison for the position of sexual aggression and 20 years for each of the obstruction charges. A federal judge will determine the sentence after considering the judgment guidelines of the United States and other legal factors.
