Dramatic arrest of a Mexican immigrant who cried help (video)

In the middle of Washington DC, David Pérez’s desperate shouts were captured by telephone cameras, and even television. “I owe nothing! Help me!”.

A journalist from the Telemundo chain managed to approach the vehicle where they tried to put the man, who looked at the camera and insisted: “I owe nothing, I come from working, I’m Mexican”.

“Help me, I want to be in my country with my family, please”he continued to express.

Minutes before, David Pérez was inside his vehicle, a light blue sedan, surrounded by several federal immigration agents that marked the stop. And although he voluntarily lowered, seconds later he tried to escape and was held by the uniformed.

At least five officers allied to contain him on the ground, from where he began asking for help from the witnesses of the scene. “I owe nothing, I owe nothing,” I shouted at full lung.

Pérez, 35, asked people to help him with his car, pointing to where he was. “I did nothing, help me, my car, the blue that is my car.” However, minutes later he was towed with a crane. In the front glass of the vehicle there was an Uber company label.

“My family has papers, my family and my children, please”he manifested before the agents introduced him to a patrol without identifiers, according to Telemundo.

“I can’t believe what is happening”

As expected, David Pérez’s arrest went viral on social networks and that was how his wife learned that he had been stopped by ICE.

“I still can’t believe what is happening, why they are taking innocent people and mistreating it. I don’t know how they can allow these people to harm so many families, who do not commit crimes,” said Pérez’s couple.

For his part, the consul of Mexico in the United States, Rodrigo Mendivil, opted for prudence in the case and preferred not to give statements to investigate the reason for the arrest of David Pérez.

“First we should identify the detention center where this person would be”the consul added. However, the Imigrant still does not appear in the ICE database.

According to the agency to Telemundo, Pérez “crossed the border irregularly up to three times and has a final deportation order”.

The National Security Department (DHS) also pointed out that The man was arrested in January 2024 and has positions for alleged sexual aggression to a child under 13.
