Through a statement, the Federal Drug Administration (FDA) announced the recall of at least 580,000 bottles of prazosin hydrochloride, a blood pressure medicationwhich contains a substance that can cause cancer.
According to the health entity, the medicine was manufactured by Teva Pharmaceuticals USA and distributed throughout the country by Amerisource Health Services who, after analyzing the medicine, issued the alert.

According to the FDA report, Prazosin helps relax blood vessels and is used for blood pressure, sleep disorders and post-traumatic stress, It comes mostly in doses of 1mg, 2mg and 5mg.
