
In her new documentary, titled ‘Rebbeca’, Becky G For the first time, she addresses the pain caused by rumors of infidelity involving her fiancé, soccer player Sebastián Lletget, in 2023. In the audiovisual material, The 28-year-old singer shares her perspective on the public scandal that rocked her relationship.
The couple, who met when Becky was 19 years old and Lletget was 23, got engaged in December 2022 after six years of relationship. However, Just four months later, social media was flooded with accusations that the athlete had been unfaithful.
Although Lletget publicly apologized in March 2023attributing the situation to a “10-minute lapse” that led to an extortion attempt, Becky had remained silent until now.
In the documentary, the ‘Mayores’ singer expresses the difficulty of facing public scrutiny. “This is where I have a hard time accepting the concept of ‘This is what you signed,’” he confesses.
“I did not sign this. I feel like my experience is behind closed doors”said.
One of the most painful aspects for the artist was the interpretation of her silence. “The most difficult thing is that my silence was confused with weakness”he shared. For her, words were insufficient: “There are no words that will ease it… only actions.”
About the documentary
Although the documentary does not explicitly confirm the current state of their relationship, according to what was reviewed by E!, it concludes with a reflection by Becky, while a man (who appears to be Lletget) is shown from behind. “I also believe that the people who are meant to be in your life are not the ones who leave or the ones who stay.”says. “They are the ones that grow with you,” he adds.
Afterwards, he says, “We will never be the same again. And I think that’s the goal.”
‘Rebbeca’ addresses Becky G’s work on her album ‘Raíces’ and what it was like for her to connect with her Mexican descent and It is available in theaters in both the United States and Mexico.
