CJNG messages accuse Baja California to protect the Sinaloa cartel



Two narcomantas signed by the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) appeared at different points of Ensenada, Baja California. In them, the criminal group directly accused the governor of the State, Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmedato allow the operation of Arturo Alejandro Hernández Medina, aka “El Tary”, alleged member of the Sinaloa cartel and linked to the Achilles group.

The messages, which include explicit threats, ensure that “El Tars” has impunity to the fishing sector of the municipality with the consent of the state authorities. “Since you got to power you have allowed ‘the Turry’ extorte to suspension to the entire fishing sector of this municipality,” says one of the messages.

The first blanket was located hanging on a welcome sign to the city. Minutes later, municipal police found a second message on the transpeninsular road, near the state government building.

The blankets not only pointed to the state president, They also launched warnings to Vice Admiral Daniel Escobedo Escobedoasking for her direct speech: “If the Governor influencer does not take letters in the matter, because you do it or continue to run blood,” read in the text signed by “646 CJNG.”

Who is “El Tars”?

According to reports from the weekly Zeta Tijuana, Arturo Alejandro Hernández Medina is an alleged average rank operator of the Sinaloa Cartel in Baja California. Since 2023 it has been indicated for coordinating the collection of extortion to merchants of the port, especially in the fishing sector and restaurant of Ensenada.

Local sources say that “El Tars” imposes prices, controls the distribution of sea products and even forces merchants to buy with certain suppliers under threat of violence. Business and fear closures

The growing pressure of organized crime caused entrepreneurs such as Moisés Muñiz, owner of the Marisco El Compa Moy restaurant, to close their businesses. Through social networks, Muñiz reported that he would leave his premises for security reasons.

“I was threatened on different dates, in different circumstances, but the limit has arrived”wrote. His message went viral and presented the fear that small merchants face in Ensenada, who say there are no longer who to resort.

The closure of El Compa Moy occurred a few days after an attack against a local fish market. where a person died and three others were injured. Until now, those responsible have not been arrested.

After the case of Muñiz, the State Attorney General’s Office said to have had contact with him, although he still does not file a formal complaint. Prosecutor María Elena Andrade offered protection and urged the merchant to testify to continue the investigation.
