Federal authorities arrested Yesenia “N”, private secretary of the mayor, in Uruapan, Michoacán. Greece Quiroz Garcíafor his alleged relationship with the murder of the former mayor Carlos Manzo Rodríguezoccurred in November 2025.
The arrest was made during an operation led by the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC) in the center of the city, in a case that is emerging as one of the key lines within the investigation into the murder of the mayor.
According to information published by the weekly Proceso, the capture is related to the hypothesis that Manzo’s former private secretary would have provided sensitive information about the mayor’s agenda and travels to members of the Jalisco New Generation Cartelidentified as material authors of the crime.
The state prosecutor’s office had already warned, during previous hearings of the case, about the possible involvement of a person close to the mayor, based on messages included in the investigation folder.
According to the newspaper El Financiero, Yesenia joined Carlos Manzo’s team in September 2024 as his private secretary and remained in office after the appointment of Grecia Quiroz as mayor, after the murder of her husband.
Just two days before her arrest, the official had shared images on social networks in which she appeared with the mayor during the 2026 Three Kings Festival in Uruapan, which confirmed her continuity within the municipal government.
After Manzo’s murder, Yesenia also published farewell messages in which He referred to the former mayor as his “leader and friend”and expressed that the city was in mourning.
Hours before Yesenia’s arrest, the head of the SSPC, Omar García Harfuch, announced during the morning conference of President Claudia Sheinbaum that there was sufficient information to continue with new arrests related to the murder of the mayor of Uruapan.
However, neither the Michoacán Prosecutor’s Office nor the federal authorities have officially detailed the specific charges against the official or the degree of participation attributed to her.
