Mohamed Salah became a trend this weekend after statements against Liverpool, after sitting out 90 minutes in the 3-3 draw against Leeds.
Wayne Rooney did not hold anything back and said that what Salah is doing is destroying his great legacy at Liverpool and he is wrong.
“He is completely destroying his legacy at Liverpool. It would be sad if he sent it all away. He is completely wrong,” Rooney said.
“Arne Slot has to demonstrate his authority, grab him and say: “You are not going to travel with the team, what you said is not acceptable. He has to go to the African Cup and let everything calm down. “Everything needs to be solved,” he added.
What did Mohamed Salah say about Liverpool?
Salah expressed that he no longer has a relationship with the club and that he feels he does not have to fight for a place in Liverpool’s eleven.
“I have said many times that I had a good relationship with the coach and now I don’t have one. I don’t know why, but it seems to me that someone doesn’t want me at the club.”
“I am very, very disappointed. I have done a lot for this club in recent years and especially last season. Now I am on the bench and I don’t know why. It seems that the club uses me as an excuse. That’s how I feel. It’s clear that someone wants to use me to take all the blame,” he said.
According to reports, Salah will not be included in the team that will travel to Italy to play against Inter Milan.
Rooney explained that Salah’s comments do nothing good for Liverpool teammates and it is he who uses the club as an excuse for the bad moment.
“Having the arrogance to say that you don’t have to earn your position… You have to earn it every week. If I were one of his teammates, I wouldn’t be happy at all with what he said, because now Liverpool needs him the most. He’s the one who is using Liverpool as an excuse.”
