Greg Abbott designates two Muslim organizations as foreign terrorists in Texas

Gregory Wayne Abbott, Governor of Texassigned a document declaring the Muslim Brotherhood and the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) as foreign terrorist organizations in the “Lone Star” state.

Through a statement, the 68-year-old republican He said he was concerned about the penetration that both organizations have achieved in Texas in recent years, which he considers a security risk.

“The Muslim Brotherhood and CAIR have long made clear their objectives: to forcibly impose Islamic law and establish the ‘domination of Islam over the world.’

The actions taken by the Muslim Brotherhood and CAIR to support terrorism around the world and subvert our laws through violence, intimidation and harassment are unacceptable” indicates part of the letter.

Globally, CAIR is known for being a Muslim civil rights group focused on defending human rights.so labeling it as a terrorist organization is controversial.

In this regard, said Muslim organization issued a letter anticipating the start of a legal battle against Greg Abbott for defaming it.

“While we are flattered by Greg Abbott’s obsession with our civil rights organization, his publicity stunt disguised as a proclamation has no basis in fact or law.

By smearing a prominent American Muslim institution with debunked conspiracy theories and fabricated quotes, Mr. Abbott has once again demonstrated that his top priority is promoting anti-Muslim bigotry, not serving the people of Texas,” the document states.

Regarding the Muslim Brotherhooddespite being a transnational Sunni Islamist organization founded in Egypt, which is allegedly dedicated to providing social services such as pharmacies, hospitals and schools, the Republican Ted Cruz, senator from Texas, had been promoting a bill for months to designate it as a terrorist organization.

The position of the politician born in Calgary, Canada, arose following an attack perpetrated in June by a man identified as Mohamed Soliman.

During a pro-Israel demonstration held in Bouler, Colorado, the individual originally from Egypt attacked 12 people with Molotov cocktails.

This action led to the withdrawal of the necessary visas for both the aggressor and his family members to continue living in the United States.

Faced with this situation, Greg Abbott He demanded a strong hand for this type of violent actions.

“These radical extremists are not welcome in our state and are now prohibited from acquiring any real estate interest in Texas,” he emphasized.
