Dak Prescott, quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys, stated that he wants to join NFL legends such as Tom Brady, Brett Favre and Drew Brees by playing until he is 40 years old.
“40 would be a very good number. Obviously, I know that I have suffered some injuries and that I played very hard in college, but I think I can reach 40 years old.” playing at the level I want, it would be something fantastic,” the quarterback said in conference.
Prescott, the highest-paid player in the NFL with $60 million annually, had said a couple of seasons ago that he doubted whether he could remain active. As he enters his fourth decade of life, he has modified his thinking.
“Yes, I have definitely changed my mind. Now I see it more realistically. I think the fun and peace that this game still gives me after 10 years, I can keep it. So as long as I can do it at a level that I’m proud of and happy with, I’ll keep trying,” he explained.

Although still far from reaching 40Prescott also has yet to lead his team to an NFL title game and hoist a Vince Lombardi Trophy.
The other three legends won at least one Super Bowl, part of what immortalized them in NFL history.
In 10 seasons he has led Dallas to the playoffs five times, but he has never guided them to a National Conference final.
Despite this, Jerry Jones, owner of the Cowboys, is confident that Prescott will break his team’s 30-year streak without winning a Super Bowl.
In the current campaign, Dallas is in third place in the East of the National Conference with two wins, two losses and one tie. This Sunday they will visit the Carolina Panthers in week six of the season.
