Pumas dominates Mazatlan at home 4-1 by Keylor Navas and Memo Martínez

The Pumas had many things to show off this Friday when Mazatlán FC 4-1 at home as a visitor, as was the great performance of the Costa Rican goalkeeper Keylor Navas, the two goals of Memo Martínez, the first ownership of Aaron Ramsey and the goal of José Juan Macías.

A triumph that arrived at the exact moment to level the numbers of the university students who could add their second consecutive victory in the Opening 2025 tournament against guns that made the harakiri in the key moments with a penalty that the Venezuelan failed the Venezuelan Nicolás Benedetti that would have meant in the contest the 2-2 draw.

But the South American failed in his shot when he gave it to the goalkeeper Keylor Navas and with that erase any possibility of reaction in a feline team led by Efraín Juárez who finally had a forceful performance.

In addition, the Pumas had in Guillermo Martínez the goal of the encounter with two scores, in addition to the reunion of the goal of José Juan Macías who did not score since the last tournament, when in his last performance with Santos Laguna he said goodbye with a goal to finish his employment relationship with the Coahuilenses.

The feline victory came at the exact moment to deal with the questions about the true capacity of a squad that opened the wallet as it had not acted in that way and where the requirement of results will be a constant with the incorporations of Alan Medina, Keylor Navas, Alan Ramsey, José Angulo, among other players who continue to leave their capacity on the court on account drops.

But now it was the opposite and they took advantage of the first half of the speed of Jorge Ruvalcaba and the ability to definition of Memo Martínez with his annotations in the 10th minute by the prison route after a foul on the same striker and in the 45th minute when Ruvalcaba on the left sneaked into the area and touched the right at the entrance of Martínez to score the 2-0.

The feline score was like a rejón for the locals who without thinking went to the front and shortly after the feline goal allowed the Brazilian Fabio Gomes to defeat Navas for 2-1 before going to rest.

A second half of power to power

For the second half, Mazatlan left with everything in front of the scoreboard and the course of the game put them at the doors of the draw when Nicolás Benedetti was shot down in the area by Nathanael Silva decreeing the maximum penalty that the Venezuelan delivered at the foot of the goalkeeper Keylor Navas.

That was the key, because Mazatlan under the rhythm and Pumas maintained control of the shares, but not before saving his advantage with another great set to the 88th minute by stopping a half scissors of the Brazilian Fabio that would have tied the encounter.

Because then Alan Medina arrived at the 90+4 minute when he took a tremendous shot from outside the area when his space was made when he sets the Colombian Álvaro Angulo and opt for the shot to put the ball at the upper left angle.

That was the penultimate nail to the coffin of Mazatlan, because at minute 90+10 a maximum penalty was decreed that José Juan Macias turned into a goal by deceiving goalkeeper Ricardo Gutiérrez with a shot to the left when the keeper launched himself to the other side to establish the 4-1 on a great feline night.
