The owner, who did not want to give his name for security, told EFE that he has been forced to fail or cancel several contracts because he has no staff and their income, such as workers, have fallen into minced.

The Hispanic, who has been with his gardening business for more than 20 years, is not the only one who complains, a recent report by the American Immigration Council lists a series of examples that show the impact on companies that face the same problem.
A meat packer in Omaha (Nebraska), where half of the employees were arrested by immigration authorities, had to reduce production at a time when ground meat prices are already rising. The recruitment of workers in the company has collapsed recently.
In Lovington (New Mexico) a raid on a dairy farm caused the temporary closure of the company.
Other 200 workers were fired in Ottumwa (Iowa) of a meat packing plant after losing their work permit by the directives of the Trump government.
In southern Florida, a local supermarket that serves the Latin community has experienced a 20% drop in customer traffic and sales volume; and in Edison (New Jersey), an important commercial warehouse and shipping center closed for days after a raid and an audit of the immigration authorities.
A blow to the economy
In big cities such as Los Angeles and Chicago, food trucks known as “Food Trucks” and restaurants have seen how migratory agents have arrested, even leaving these businesses without attention, which, in addition, have experienced a significant fall in customers.
The raids have impacted the agricultural sectorwhich registered a total employment drop of 155,000 workers between March and July 2025, according to a report by Economic Insights and Research Consulting.
The construction sector also faces problems due to the lack of employees, so much that Jim Tobin, director of the National Association of Housing Builders, said the Lasts “are worrisome.”
